Project Overview

Firebase-backed community flood-reporting app for Assam, with GPS tagging, photo capture, water-level severity tracking, and a UPI donation flow.

The Challenge

Every monsoon, severe flooding hits various districts of Assam, but real-time hyperlocal water levels and road accessibility data are rarely accessible to locals immediately.

The Engineering Solution

Built a lightweight, mobile-first progressive web app allowing citizens and rescue volunteers to pin geotagged flood alerts, upload photos, report water levels, and direct donations via UPI to verified relief organizations.

Key Features Implemented

  • Interactive Map with real-time severity pins (Normal, Warning, Critical)
  • Device GPS auto-tagging and camera photo submission
  • Zero-login quick submission option for users in emergency situations
  • Integrated UPI QR and deep link payment flow for instant relief donations
  • Offline caching for low-connectivity rural flood zones
